Tata Tiago Electric Launch Date
Unveiled at the 2017 LCV (Low Carbon Emission Vehicle) event, the Tata Tiago EV is expected to be launched in international markets in 2018. Tata Motors is expected to take another year before bringing this electric vehicle for the Indian market. A possible debut at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018 can’t be ignored.
Showcased at LCV (Low Carbon Emission Vehicle) 2017 event, Tata Tiago EV – Electric Vehicle is expected to release in India and international in 2018. Tata may take another year to launch as they are checking the readiness of the market by allowing the visitor to take a drive. Possibly they may be showcased in India at the upcoming auto expo in Delhi.

Tiago EV using 85Kw electric drive liquid cooled motor generates 200Nm torque. According to Tata, the new Tiago electric can reach 0 to 100 within 11 Sec and can go 135Kmp top speed. The EV is single speed gear box transfer power to the front wheel. Tiago EV is 20 KH lighter than the Tiago which is running on petrol. The total kerb weight is 1040KG. The EV model of Tiago is running concept and not actually for sale now, but Tata is giving chance to a visitor to take a drive. This exercise points us to guess tata is testing the readiness of vehicle to launch. To mention, if Tiago EV will go on sale, it will be first Indian brand (Tata) fully electric car to go on sale. the selection of Tiago for electric is quite a smart move as Tiago is based on low-cost platform and it helps cut some the cost of the battery and related parts. Güenter Butschek, CEO and MD of Tata Motors, earlier, said
“We have a Tiago EV available and I think that we are at a point where we have understood the powertrain requirements as far as the system integration of the vehicle is concerned. The question now is where and how to get the best possible powertrain solution which will give us an opportunity to introduce an all-electric vehicle in a certain price bracket to make it a sellable option to the Indian customer.”
Recently govt of India is traying to promote the electric vehicle in India and part of this tata may launch the Tiago electric soon in India. you may get the hand on Tiago Electric soon in upcoming Auto Expo next year.
